Do most nail salons do gel nails?

do most nail salons do gel nails? because i want to get fake nails and i dont want acrylic because they mess up your natural nails..

also, are gel nails and gel tips the same things? or there is no such thing as gel nails just gel tips?Do most nail salons do gel nails?
Its a com mom misconception that either gels, or acrylic nails mess up your natural nails. Actually, it is the fault of the tech who applies them if your natural nails get damaged, or ruined. To help prevent this, always avoid the cheap discount salons where they charge like $25 or less for a full set of acrylics. Try to find a reputable salon where they use high quality products, and all the techs are skilled, experienced, and licensed. Oh, and they should speak English as well. There is not much that I find to be more annoying than getting my nails done by a tech who knows little to no English and talks the entire time to coworkers in her native tongue. This is not only rude, it is unprofessional as well.

No, not all salons do gel nails. And of the ones who do, not many can do them the right way. Gel nails are easy to do, but very difficult to master. In short, it takes several years before a tech would be able to apply a decent looking set of UV gel nails on you. Its really not all that simple to do, and do properly - as many think it is. Also, beware of the scams out there. Lots of cheap salons use acrylic while supposedly giving you gel nails. els are never a powder, they are always a gel - just like the name implies. If the tech uses any liquid and powder on your nails, you have acrylic nails - not UV gel nails. Don't let that happen to you. Be informed before you step foot into any salon. Too many girls are wearing nails they believe to be gel nails, but they really aren't. The term gel tips is when a tech applies a plastic tip to your nail, and applies gel over it. This is not the right way to fo gel nails, in my opinion. They really should be sculpted on by the use of a nail form. But, this is more difficult to do, and it takes a skilled tech to do them. Any tech can use tips, that's easy. But the end result is more than not cheap looking, flat nails. Nails are not supposed to be flat. My advice? Find a good, highly skilled tech who uses high quality products and who takes pride in her work. And stay out of the discount salons. Just my opinion...
