How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?

They grow out too fast, so I decided to remove them. How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?
If you have real UV gel nails, then acetone will NOT remove it. Uv gels are non-porous, and therefore the acetone - or any other liquid, cannot readily penetrate the surface of the nail. Thus, they do not dissolve in acetone or any other solvent. Way to tell if you had real UV gels applied or not: Simple. If the tech used ANY liquid and powder on your nails, you have acrylic nails and yes, acetone will dissolve that. But if you had UV gels applied, and each individual layer was cured under a UV lamp for about 2 minutes, then you do have UB gel nails. UV nail gel looks exactly as the name implies - a gel. It is not a powder. Here is a pic of some UV nail gels made by a very reputable professional nail product company:

That is exactly what UV nail gels look like. If you had this applied to your nails - and NO liquid and powder, then the nails must be filed off by an experienced and highly skilled nail tech. It's not easy to file these off, so that is why I emphasize the fact that you must go to someone who has lots of experience in the removal of UV gel nails. An unskilled tech will ruin your nails so fast it isn't funny. Seriously, you need to have them filed off by someone really good at this. Whatever you do, make sure the tech does NOT pry them off, or force them off in any way at all. This WILL cause serious damage to your natural nails and it will hurt a LOT too.

Good luck! How do I safely remove my gel nails, without having to spend money at the nail salon?
I had UV gel nails and decided to have my nail tech remove them. She pried them off. It hurt like hades! I had previously tried acetone and it does not work on real UV gel nails. Do not believe anyone who tells you it does!

Soak them in acetone (you can buy that at the grocery store...its like a strong nail polish remover) for 15-30 minutes..but before you put them in coat your nails in vaseline so the acetone doesn't dry out or mess up your skin in any way....acetone is some strong stuff! Good luck! :]
yaah there isnt exaclty a safe way but soaking them in pure acetone. not nail polish remover just pure acetone. soak em for about 10-20 min. and just wipe em off. or just go get your nails redone or get a filll~! :]
soak in acetone (pure acetone you can get anywhere)
