Why can't I buy a UV Gel Nail?

I'm planning to buy a UV Gel Nail kit cos I don't want to spend much money for salon. But it seems that only IBD sells to non-professional users. I don't know this brand much. OPI has UV gel nail brand, axxium, but they don't sell it to non-professionals. Do you know why?Why can't I buy a UV Gel Nail?
Its because brands like OPI, CND, and LCN - to name a few, are for professional use only. That means only licensed beauty professionals are allowed to purchase the products. Look at it this way. The companies I named and others too have a name and reputation which took a long time to build. Its costly to develop a certain brand image which these companies strive for. They want their products to be used properly, and in good taste. Now, if the average, untrained consumer were able to freely buy their products, their reputations would quickly go straight down the tube. To do UV gel nails - the right way, takes skill, practive, and classroom training. The typical consumer has none of the above. Thus, if they want to protect their image, and professional reputation, they must limit the sale of their products to professionals only and no one else. To do so would mean lots of people would be out there walking around with seriously bad looking nails which would in turn look really bad on the company. Brands sold at Sally Beauty are considered to be non-professional beauty product lines even though they often market them as 'professional.' You mentioned IBD gels. Yes, Sally Beauty carries these gels and they sell them to the general public. The truth is that IBD is not considered to be a professional product and very few 'true' nail professionals use this particular brand of gels. It is mostly found in what we commonly refer to as the 'discount' salons where the cost of the products used must be kept at a minimum in order for them to charge such low prices and still be profitable. They skimp on every single thing they use and UV gels are no exception. That is not to say that IBD is not a suitable gel line. Its not that bad. But it isn't professional quality. I'm pretty sure it would work just fine for your needs. Top of the line, reputable UV gels cost a lot of money. For example, LCN gels cost an average of twice the amount that OPI and its competition sells their gels for. LCN is a very expansive product line, but they also have top quality UV gels which sell for more because they are worth it. So, those companies don''t want their hard earned reputation going down the tubes by allowing just anyone to buy their products. Its the same with hair supplies. For example, there are many, many different hair colors available for salon use only. These will never be found in any place other than professional beauty supply stores where only licensed cosmetologists are allowed to buy them, and rightfully so. I know it isn't what you want to hear, but that's the way it is. Its no different in many industries other than just the beauty supply industry. There are many such cases like I just mentioned in all sorts of industries - they sell certain products only to licensed professionals and to no one else. Its that way for a reason. These companies have spent massive amounts of money on developing brand recognition. They obviously want to protect that image, and will do so by selling to licensed professionals, or perhaps to only company trained and certified professionals - it depends.

This is starting to get a bit long-winded now so I'll leave it at that. I hope this helped a bit so you can better understand why it is that many companies choose to sell to qualified, licensed professionals, and not to others? Well, I tried!!! Its late, and I'm tired so I may not have explained it very well - I don't know.

Best wishes!
