remove them, This lady at work has horrible nails caused by fungus under a gel nail.. she only had it on one nail but it spreed and now has it on 3 her nails are so ugly they are brown and chipped and it seems like they are not growing anymore.I developed a fungus under a gel nail and i'm thinking I might want to remove them.?
You need to have them removed. The fungus is breeding due to damp conditions under your nail and your real nail isn't allowed to breath. If you have just a regular fungus then treat it with Vicks Vapour Rub (it really works) It contains the same main ingrediant that's found in anti-fungal treatments, it's quicker to treat and cheaper! rub it on the affected nail twice a day with a cotton bud and the fungus will go away. Also if you don't treat it now, it will spread!
You should remove them right away. And see a doctor immediately so you can get a prescription -- this fungus will not go away without medication, and it will spread. I have seen people with really ugly nails from these infections. Please don't ignore this -- get to your doctor.
i do work experience at a nail salon, and they said that most likely its mold from air and moisture getting trapped under the nail, get them removed, and then use an antiseptic.
Uh oh fungus! I would remove the nail and let your nails air out. Fungus is very to treat and get rid of. You might want to go to your doctor and get some lamisil.

The best way to treat / cure up the fungus is to remove the nails and treat them with an anti fungal nail remedy (usually available at drug stores or wal-mart)

Good Luck!
Have them taken off at the salon asap! Let your nails take a breather. Fungus can cause a whole mess of problems it isn't worth waiting for it to grow out.
Try soaking it in Listerine mouthwash. My husband had a black and brittle nail, and it really worked! His nail is now growing back healthy.
this could be serious if not taken care of NOW.dont put it off.
